<br />-3- <br />Section III.6.2 - Ripping Execution <br />The entire specification under this section of the Invitation and Bid is <br />hereby replaced with the following specification: <br />Areas to be ripped are all located within the west mine working area limits as <br />delineated on Exhibits 3A and 36. Areas to be ripped consist of the disturbed <br />area strips on the north and south sides of the highway, beginning 5 ft. from <br />the edges of the pavement for a width of 10 ft., and all other regraded <br />surfaces or disturbed surfaces not requiring regrading which have become <br />compacted by rubber tired equipment during construction. Ripping shall be <br />done with ripper shank(s) extending a minimum of 1 ft. below the surface grade <br />with a maximum 1 ft. horizontal spacing between ripper shank penetration lines. <br />Section III.7.2.A - Culvert Removal/Modification <br />In regards to the construction of riprap lined drainage channels associated <br />with CMP-2, CMP-3, and CMP-8, an additional specification is provided in this <br />amendment as follows: <br />For each of the 3 riprap lined drainage channels to be constructed for CMP-2, <br />CMP-3, and CMP-8, the CONTRACTOR shall install a layer of geotextile fabric <br />along the excavated channel bottom and sides for the entire length of each <br />channel prior to placement of riprap. The type of geotextile fabric used <br />shall be that recommended by manufacturers for the type of channel and size of <br />riprap specified. <br />1152E/scg <br />
