The maJority of the <br />distress was located in the eastern, two-story portion of the <br />~. structure. As noted by others, these sacks, in general, wore <br />\~,,,~V~` wltlerat tl~e to}. Much of the distress appears to have developed <br />~'' ~S fairly recently and, in many loations, the aaek widths axoaeded <br />~ ~~ 1/8 in. In addition to the tracking distress, there were visible <br />separations (1/4 in.) where the east snd south exterior walls abue <br />the floor and roof framing. A detailed docua+ontation of the . <br />interior distress was performed during our site .visit but, for <br />purposes of brevity, will not be reproduod in• this report. <br />• Substantial deterioration and distress in the south wall of the <br />second story sitting room was noted. It was apparent that this <br />deterioration was the reaylt of persistent moisture lnfiltratlon.. <br />$Qun atlons <br />There was no elgnlficaltt distress or evidence of movement <br />affeeting the concrete foundation walls of the basement at the <br />west end of the house. ' . <br />We spent a considerable amount of time within the shallow <br />crawl space. During our examination of the rubble stone <br />foundation for the central portion of the house, we saw. no <br />indications of significant deterioration or. distress. These <br />foundations were !n surprisingly, good. condition considering: the <br />age Of the structure.
