AMENDMENT N0. 1
HAWK'S NEST MINE EAST AREA RECLAMATION PROJECT
BID N0. RN-GOAL-MINES-4
Special Conditions
Bidding Information - Time of Completion
The time of completion allowed for this project is hereby extended an
additional 65 days to a total period of 365 calendar days after receipt
of the Notice to Proceed.
Project Work Specifications
Section III:1.3 - Remobilization
For the purpose of clarifying the intent of the phrase "seasonal
conditions beyond the contractor's control", this refers only to extended
periods of inclement weather such as significant accumulations of
snowfall, long term ground freeze during winter months, and long periods
of muddy ground conditions due to extensive rainfall. Remobilization
costs will not be paid for short periods of inclement weather lasting a
few days, or for situations where the contractor wishes to demobilize
equipment to perform work on other jobs.
Section III.2.2.B.4 - Structural Demolition; Hazardous, Toxic, and
Flammable Materials
This section of the Special Conditions is hereby replaced with the
following specification:
Items at the mine which potentially fall within the definition of
hazardous or toxic waste consist of all industrial solvents, paint
strippers and weed killers; all open or partially used containers of
fuel, grease, lubricants, antifreeze and transmission fluid; all
unlabeled containers holding solid or liquid materials; any other
partially used or re-used containers holding solid or liquid materials
(including wash plant flocculents); and any partially used or leaking
containers holding adhesives, sealants, liners, and other industrial
compounds. All materials of this type which exist within the mine
working area limits shall be placed inside Warehouse #2 after removing
from the structure all salvageable and non-hazardous materials to be
disposed of. All containers found to be leaking shall be placed inside
empty intact (non-leaking) 55 gallon drums which exist on the site or
inside other types of leakproof containers and then transported to the
warehouse.
Any new unopened or factory sealed containers of liquid or solid products
can be salvaged or recycled by the CONTRACTOR. However, any of these
products which are not salvaged or recycled must be placed in Warehouse
#2 for subsequent disposal by the state. As such, demolition and removal
of Warehouse fl2 shall be delayed until the state has analyzed the
material and arranged for disposal or recycling.
