Mr. Dave Stout - 5 - April 15, 1985
2. Additional information is required with respect to road
drainage. Data to substantiate the assertion that
culverts or ditch relief are not needed should be
supplied. A plan to dissipate flow energy from the toe
slope ditch should also be submitted.
3. A more detailed topsoil salvage plan is required.
Calculations of suitable topsoil salvage volumes and
redistribution depths should be included.
4. The timetable for reclamation of the old road also needs
to be addressed. The existing bond for the Golden Eagle
mine will be considered sufficient only if the old road
is reclaimed immediately following construction of the
new road. If immediate reclamation is to occur, then
access to the air shaft (intake) and topsoil stockpiles
needs to be addressed as part of the reclamation plan.
Simultaneous use of both roads will require additional
bond.
If you have any questions, please contact me at the Division. You may
wish to arrange a meeting to facilitate discussion of these questions.
Sincerely,
~~ o~_
Jeffrey Deckler
Reclamation Specialist
JD/eeb
Doc. No. 9122
