OWNERS, 5475 HIGHWAY 96 <br />WEST ~ ) <br />~7-~ <br />PURPOSE <br />~_-~'U/ <br />The applicant requests an amendment to the conditions of approval of Special Use <br />Permit No. 479 (Amended) to provide temporary unlimited hours of operation for <br />Extraction and Processing of Natural Deposits in an A-2, Agricultural (minimum 5 <br />acres) Zone District. The duration of this amendment would coincide with the project to <br />reconstruct Pueblo Dam under Bureau of Reclamation Contract No. 60-C0382 (Exhibit <br />1). Upon completion of the project, the hours of operation for the mining areas would <br />revert to the existing daylight only orb a.m. to 6 p.m. (whichever provides the greater <br />working hours) requirement. <br />LOCATION <br />The subject property lies north and south of the Arkansas River, comprising portions of <br />Sections 5 and 6, Township 21 South, Range 65 West, and portions of Sections 31, 32 <br />and 33, Township 20 South, Range 65 West. The subject property contains 2621 <br />acres (Exhibits 2 and 3j. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Special Use Permit No. 479 consists of several previously approved special use <br />permits that were consolidated on January 18, 1983.
