Dr. Corley pulled up in a cloud of dust. "You had better leave
this site now, because I am going to close the gate in the next
five minutes," he asserted angrily. We discussed continuing with
the Pre-Bid meeting, and making a decision later about the nature
of the scope of work. "I am sure that we can change the work plan
at the Pre-Bid Meeting, because I know that it is somewhere in this
document." I confirmed that amendments were an option following
the Pre-Bid meeting, but that we would not accommodate his
requests, particularly if it resulted in reclamation of non-G.E.C.
related disturbance. "Why don't you tell them about the changes in
the scope of work that I want, now?" he asked. I reiterated that
his opportunity to materially modify the bid document had elapsed,
and that in fact, we had modified the work plan to modify his
concerns.
Tom interrupted the discussion. "It appears that there is enough
disagreement over the scope of work, that we are canceling this
Pre-Bid meeting, and will waste no more of your time." We got into
our truck and drove off the property.
m:\wp51\house.cwb
