This project will <br />temporarily displace wildlife from the areas directly affected. The <br />extent of the permanent impact will depend on the success of reclamation. <br />The grassland habitat is generally less critical than the shrub stands <br />surrounding it. <br />Reclamation recommendations (include key apeciea/habitats for which reatoratio¢~ is <br />~ed). <br />Because of the large area proposed for minine, we suggest that reclama- <br />tion take place as the project progresses, thereby limiting the distur- <br />bance area to the smallest possible acreage. Reclamation/reseedinq activi- <br />ties should be monitored to determine success. <br />Reseeding with a mixture of native grasses is recommended. snowberry <br />stands should be re-established. Control of undesirable species (espec- <br />' Tally knapweed) in the reclamation area should be accomplished.
