Both quarcies supply
aggregates and feedstone to a fine-grind limestone plant, and are supported by the same
maintenance shop and yard. Both of these are located generally within the area of Rex
Quarry but included within the Owl Canyon permit. Merging these two permits would
greatly simplify reporting and tracking, as well as inspections.
Tn addition, merging the two permits would reduce costs of administration for both your
division and for our company. We are not making any change in reclamation plans as a
result of this merger ,nor would operations of the combined quarry change in any way.
The combined Owl Canyon-Rex Quarry would have the following legal description:
The W 1/2 ofthe E 1/2 and the E 1/2 ofthe W 1/2, Section 1, T09N, R70W; the
W 1/2 of the SE l/4 and the E 1/2 of the W 1/2, and those portions of Tracts A
and Bin the W 1/2 of the W I/2, except those portions within the Colorado
