~/oL 6 A
"~ECL9rmeA DISPOSAL AREA"
The waste disposal fill has been designed using recognized professional
standards and is certified by Matthew S. Sakurada, Colorado P.E.~615836.
All vegetative and organic material must be removed prior to topsoil remov-
al. The material is to be removed using standard. clearing techniques such
as bulldozers or handclearing. Topsoil will be sampled, removed, segregat-
ed, stored, and replaced according to the specifications for topsoil handl-
ing. The removed organic material may be used to control erosion, promote
vegetation and retain moisture through mulching, chipping of scattering of,
material.
Diversion ditch design is as shown on drawings. All disturbed areas will
be revegetated as described in revegetation specifications.
The disposal area has been located on the most moderately sloping and natu-
rally stable area on the permit area. In order to assure additional sta-
bility and prevent .mass movement, fill material is to be placed upon the
natural terrain in a bench terrace type form. The fill material shall be
placed in horizontal lifts in thickness less than two feet. This is to en-
sure mass stability, prevent mass movement and to ensure a long tetm static
safety factor of 1.5. Calculations oa stability follow on attached
sheets.
No depressions or impoundments are to be constructed on the completed fill
so as to be suitable for post-mining land uses.
The bench terraces are to be constructed using the following criteria:
Each terrace will be a maximum of tweaty feet in width. The ou[slope is to
have a maximum slope of lv:2h. No culverts will be allowed within the
fill. See drawing plan and cross-sections for actual configuration. The
natural stability based on analysis of sliding and foundations is adequate
for safety. For this reason no keyway cuts or rock buttresses are neces-
sary.
