BOX 112059 <br />CANON CITY, COLORADO 81212 <br />Stipulation No. 5: When fill slopes have been placed and graded <br />the material will be sampled with the assistance of the local <br />soil conservation office. Standard procedures for sampling set <br />forth by the Soil Conservation Service will be utilized to obtain <br />a representative sample of the seed bed. As determined by the <br />uniformity or non-uniformity of the seed bed samples will be sent <br />to Colorado State University for analysis and recommendations. <br />Stipulation No. 6: Revegetation success standards were submitted <br />and set forth on page 88a of the application. These standards <br />were based on clippings taken by the Soil Conservation Service <br />and contained in section 2.04.10 of the application the herbage <br />production stated on page 88a was that taken from bottom of Lewis <br />Gulch where thicker soils exist. Herbage production for the <br />slopes above the bottom of Lewis Gulch is between 650 and 800 <br />lbs. per acre. Vegetation density or basal area of vegetation <br />covering the ground surface is from 5-10 percent on the side <br />slopes. <br />Stipulation No. 7: A sediment trap 3 feet deep and 10 feet long <br />has been incorporated into the site plans and will be excavated <br />at the inlet of the 60 in. culvert in Lewis Gulch. <br />Stipulation No. 8: As stated in the permit application (page 86 <br />and 88a), the underground development waste disposal area will be <br />covered by 2 feet on Non-toxic suitable soil utilizing material <br />from the toe dike and from the Lewis Gulch fill. The quantities <br />required and available for the earth cover are as follows: <br />2 ft. earth cover - 1430 cu.yd. <br />Available from berm at the waste disposal area - 1625 cu.yd. <br />The post mining topography has been designed to accomodate the <br />earth cover on the waste disposal area. <br />Stipulation No. 9: The reclamation plan for the Twin Pines No. 1 <br />portal area is included in the permit application under section <br />2.06.10, page 98. <br />If additional information is required or questions arise <br />please feel free to contact me. <br />L.
