-8-
All water quality data obtained from sampling of the Colorado River (as
required in Section V of the April 8, 1985 Findings) should be
submitted to the Division.
8. Powderhorn Coal Company should submit to the Division three copies of a
revised hydrologic monitoring map which accurately shows the labeled
locations of all wells, piezometers, water quality sample points
(Colorado River), surface water gage sites, sediment ponds, and NPDES
discharge points. These maps should be submitted no later than July 1,
1986. In addition, this map should be updated as monitoring points are
added or deleted from the permit requirements.
9. NPDES reports and sediment pond inspections should continue to be
reported on a quarterly basis. It is recommended that no other
hydrologic data be submitted quarterly unless special circumstances
exist. Rather, Powderhorn Coal Company should tabulate and submit all
hydrologic data in one Annual Hydrologic Report. This annual report,
which should be based on a water year (October 1 through September 30),
should be submitted to the Division by January 30 of the following
year. The Annual Hydrologic Report should include, along with the
tabulated data, a discussion of the hydrologic systems at the mine,
identify any quality or quantity trends mainfesting themselves in these
systems, and an update to the Hydrologic Consequences of Mining section
of the permit application, if necessary.
srs
0147E
