The PLANT SITE would
be disturbed for the total life of the mine. The disturbed area
will contain stripped area awaiting mining, the setbacks around
the perimeter of the lake and slopes that are re soiled but not yet
revegetated. This 25.00 ac.± would fluctuate as lake area is
created, so the area needing revegetation would never exceed 50.00
ac. f.
The following table shows an example of how the pit distur-
bance could possibly be distributed. If the pit is approximately
two-thirds disturbed, as in this example, then 348 would be water,
308 would be in the bonded area and the balance would be undis-
turbed. The bank slopes around part of the lake have been
reclaimed, the PLANT SITE area is totally disturbed and a section
of the pit is stripped ready for mining. It should be remembered
this is an example and the actual amount of disturbance will not
exceed this example, in most cases it will be less.
ACRES
TOTAL STRIPPED PLANT SLOPES LAKE REVEG. ~UNDIS
SITE AREA COMPLETE T[]RBED
168.41 20.30 25.00 4.70 57.57 9.37 51.47
Under these conditions all the STRIPPED area and PLANT SITE will
need resoiling and revegetation. The bank slopes (SLOPES) around
the lake would, only need revegetation.
BOND RBEVALUATIOA
The previously approved reclamation plan will be used. The
same seed types, fertilizer and mulch amounts will be used. We
have included new figures for resoiling and revised the costs for
the various activities and materials. The original SCS recommen-
dation called for the area to be resoiled with approximately 6
inches of topsoil, this will remain unchanged. The original seed
mixture will be used, please refer to Exhibit E in the original
plan for the exact details of the mixture. A revised Reclamation
Cost analysis is submitted with this text.
