TR-56 was received by the Division August 22, 2001. The revision addressed a limitation on the
quantity of coal waste to be stored in temporary, uncompacted stockpiles, and also proposed that
the railroad including the rail loop and most facilities within the rail loop be removed from DMG
jurisdiction under the Deserado Permit. Due to the significant impact that the latter proposal
would have had on the approved Deserado reclamation plan, the application was withdrawn, and
re-submitted as a permit revision application (PR-04), in a submittal dated August 23, 2001.
Minor Revisions .
MR-119 was received by the Division May 5, 2000, and deemed complete May 24, 2000. The
revision addressed drilling of a coal development hole to define the start line for B-Seam
Longwall Panel 2. A proposed approval decision was issued June 7, 2000.
MR-120 addressed additional documentation for certain small azea exemption locations. The
application was received May 3, 2001, deemed complete May 4, 2001, and a proposed approval
decision was issued May 7, 2001.
MR-121 addressed the drilling of three development drill sites, with associated light use roads,
within the existing permit area. The application was received May 17, 2001, deemed complete
May 21, 2001, and a proposed approval decision was issued July 19, 2001, following receipt of
comments from BLM.
MR-122 addressed further clarification of small azea exemption sediment control designs
applicable to particular disturbance categories. An initial submittal received July 26, 2001 was
deemed incomplete. Amended submittal received October 1, 2001 was determined complete
October 2, 2001, and a proposed approval decision was issued October 3, 2001. Map 147 was
amended by the revision.
MR-123 addressed the addition of a dust control additive (coherex) tank and concrete
containment structure to the rock dust silo, on the rock dust shaft pad azea. The revision also
updated the Air Quality Petmits for the mine. The revision was deemed complete on August 28,
2001, and proposed approval decision was issued September 4, 2001.
Deserado Mine April 30, 2002
6
