III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
.---
F,,<~<a~..~!
j .

~~C/~~~-
ENERGY COMPANY
June 20, 1990
Mr. Dan Mathews
Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80202-2273
Dear Mr. Mathews:

- •, n~tRn~,~r,,, r,,,.,.
As you know, Coors Energy is in the process of converting
the Keenesburg Mine from a coal producer to an asli disposal
area.
We understand that the MLRD permitting and inspection
process will continue so long as there is a surety bond and
unreclaimeci land within the Mine permit boundaries or until
there is a land use change.
Bob Jesser, a member of our work force, has done
reclamation work both at the Mine and on Sections 8 and 17.
He has lead range management training at TCU and is presently
completing a degree in business administration at Regis
College. We plan to use Bob in the day to day permit
responsibilities that Bob Trousil and I have done for the last
six years.
Since I will continue to be available on an "as needed"
arrangement, and Bob Jesser will be involved in the coal
hauling and back filling work, it is likely that neither Bob
nor I will be at the Mine when MLRD arrives for unannounced
inspections.
As a result, we suggest that you go to the office and look
for Bob Grolis, Mechanic, wlro is usually in the large shop next
to the office (during normal working Hours, the gate and
office should he open). If Bob Grohs i.s not available, it may
be necessary to take a portable radio and announce your
presence to the reclamation crew, or to 1larold Stumpf,
Electrician. They will contact Bob Jesser by radio if you
need him and he will return to the Mine for the inspection.
P.O. BOX 467 GOLDEN, COLORADO 80402 (303) 278-7030 FAX (303) 279-6087
