Inasmuch as the quarry operation has not ceased operations, the remaining <br />flat benches have not been addressed in this report. <br />A performance bond continues to be provided to the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board as well as Jefferson County in the monetary amount <br />defined by the Land Reclamation Board and is consistent with their normal <br />and accepted schedule of fees. <br />A public liability and property damage umbrella insurance policy in the <br />amount of $2 million has been kept in full force. Asphalt Paving Co. <br />agrees to actively pursue an operating policy that continually operates <br />within all applicable rules, regulations and statutes of any county, state <br />or federal agency having jurisdiction over any aspect of the operation. <br />Water spray bars continue to be in operation and are installed at dust <br />producing points in the crushing operation. Water trucks continue to spray <br />the stockpiles, the stockpile areas and the quarry floor as well as those <br />areas which have been revegetated. All access roads have been paved <br />eliminating the need for water trucks on the quarry access roads. Asphalt <br />Paving Co. continues to try to be advised of the latest technology for new <br />methods of dust control. Should these new methods become available, we <br />recognize our obligation to so inform the Board of Adjustments of these new <br />additions or methods we would propose to use. In the event of extreme wind <br />conditions, Asphalt Paving Co. continues to shut down its entire crushing <br />operation. <br />A report identifying the crushing days of operation and identifying all <br />days on which the detonation of blasting materials within 200' of ground <br />surface is included in this annual report. <br />Also included is a progress report on the reclamation identifying areas <br />being reclaimed, the areas in which reclamation is complete and the success <br />and failure of these efforts. Also included in this annual report is a <br />report on the seismic monitoring of the operation. <br />This report also includes a summary of transportation activities on how <br />material was transported off the site. We would request that this <br />information remain confidential and precluded from disclosure until the <br />mining operation is terminated. <br />Hydrology: We are not aware of any adverse impacts of the operation on the <br />hydrologic cycle. There is no significant erosion problem and any <br />sedimentation collected has been reused in topsoil applications to sustain <br />new plant life. It is our opinion that the operation is sensitive to this <br />cycle and has improved vegetation. <br />Any complaints directed specifically to Asphalt Paving Co. have been dealt <br />with properly and in a timely manner so as to eliminate any potential <br />problems that may arise. This Company recognizes its responsibility to <br />constantly be aware of any and all suggested methods for improvements and <br />• pledges its continued best effort for a professional operation. We would <br />note, however, we are not aware of any specific complaints directed toward <br />Asphalt Paving Co. <br />Asphalt Paving Co. appreciates the opportunity to discuss this operation <br />with you. We are convinced that our relationship with the Zoning <br />Department and the Board of Adjustment is the reason it works so well. <br />
