Board of Adjustment Annual
Report which reflects last year's operations. (June 1987 through May 1988)
We feel that the information contained herein covers the points addressed
and requested in the original resolution.
As you are aware, the economy as a whole and the construction industry
specifically, continues to suffer a downturn in activity. This situation
continues to have an affect on our quarry operation, involving material
production, truck movements, etc.
In recent months there has been some turn around in construction activity.
Work, however, is still extremely difficult to obtain, continues to be very
competitive and has little or no margin in it. We continue to avail
ourselves of every opportunity in an effort to press forward and maintain
our "share" of the marketplace, whatever that may be. We will continue to
maintain a quality operation and keep our quarry a safe place to work
regardless of the economy.
As has been offered in the past, Asphalt Paving Co. remains open to
suggestions from you and the Board of Adjustment with regard to Ralston
Quarry and its relationship with Jefferson County.
Sincerely,
t ~y~~~
Sprag M.
