Additionally, it contains two charts and an illustrative <br />map. One chart depicts the Geologic Time Scale and the other is a <br />Generalized Stratigraphic Section of the area with attention to the <br />Smuggler mine. The map depicts the Major Geologic Features of the <br />State of Colorado including the Sawatch Uplift in the west central <br />portion of the State. <br />Of particular interest in this examination was the surface <br />expression of the mineralized rock and its comparison with "waste" <br />rock removed from underground in the course of mining and disposed <br />of on the surface, specifically on real property now owned by the <br />Smuggler-Durant Mining Corporation (SONG). Most of the surface <br />operations of the Smuggler mine were (and are) within the confines <br />of SDMC real property boundaries and identified by the <br />Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of "Operable Unit 2" <br />Bruce A.
