i •
Carl---
Here's how things stand with Larry Nelson(the original permit holder for Shaffer's Crossing, M-78-208).
1) He said that he sent the originals for the permit SO application in with the$100.00 check. Both were addressed
ATTN:Christina Kamnikar. I didn't get them, although the check has been processed;they were probably just given
to Barb or filed (since this was just the name on the envelope, from what he said). The originals don't appear to be in
the file,either. I told him I would try to backtrack these(although I don't expect to find them).Either way,they were
filled out improperly, and need to be re-done no matter what.
2) Mr.Nelson wants to know if he and Mr. Peterson can just re-sign the copies they have, and get them notarized
properly, then turn those in for the SO application. I didn't think so, but I didn't say that, since he was becoming
somewhat frustrated. I then very clearly informed him that the penalties and annual fees were due April 26,2000,
and not April 17,2000,as he first thought when he read my fax.
3) Both parties have been re-faxed copies of the 10/8/99 letter about what had to be changed on the application form.
Both parties have been informed that the annual fee and civil penalties are due on April 26,2000, or the permit will
be revoked. Both parties know that Bill Peterson has to put up a$2,500.00 bond at this time. (Mrs. Peterson stated
that he had this ready, and would be able to put it up at any time.)
4) Mr. Nelson seemed to be trying to tell me at one point that he couldn't fill out the paperwork as Nelson
Construction, because that company never existed, and the permit was issued to the wrong name. I'm not certain if
he was clear on that or not, or if he had it turned around in his mind, since the application we had did have part of
this filled out correctly. He may mention this to you. The only thing 1 could think of is that if he refuses to sign under
the name on the permit, then we need to get a name-change to the permit, then have him sign it.
1 think that's as clear as it gets right now. Larry Nelson will probably be calling you for an answer to#2 tomorrow.
I'll be back on Monday.
CLK
1
