These modifications have allowed Trapper to: Task 1) -remove brush <br />alot~ the southern margin of the slide area in order to better monitor ground movements; <br />Task 2) -begin sealing tension cracks along the southeastern margin of the slide area to <br />reduce future moisture infiltration; and Task 4) pursue plans for exploratory drilling <br />activities to further evaluate the slide (drilling has been approved but has not yet begun). <br />This letter requests a firrther modification to authorize the activity herein described as <br />Task 5, and also provides additional detail regarding the previously requested activity <br />described as Task 3 (buttress wnstrudion). <br />Trapper Mining Inc. (TMl) is cturently planning to perform one (1) additional task within <br />the boundary of the slide area TMI is specifically requesting that IC-Order No. 7620997 <br />be fiuther modified to allow the following: <br />Task 5: Colninuation of tension crack sealing work to the southeast of the <br />azea greviously described under Task 2. <br />The following discussions provide additional detail regarding the proposed Task 5 and <br />the particular safety measures that are planned to be utilized. A revised map indicating <br />the location where the proposed task will occur is included for your reference Tra er <br />information pertaining to Task 3 is also provided. <br />Task 5: Trapper Mine plans to continue the work of sealing up tension cracks and <br />smoothing and sealing the safely accessible areas of the southern slide face. This work <br />will further reduce moisture infiltration into the slide zone and will minimize the <br />opportunity for slide reactivation.
