1 <br /> <br />' 1.4.6 Mapping Unit Descriptions <br />' The mapping unit descriptions were developed based on <br /> the physiographic setting, inclusion of other soils, and <br />' topsoil suitability and depth. For soil complexes, the <br /> percentage for each soil or land type was estimated. This <br />t percentage was based on the estimated average composition <br />' of this unit over the entire study area and may vary somewhat <br /> from one location to another. The assumption has been made <br />' that soils within a mapping unit may occupy the full range <br /> of characteristics for primary and included soil types. <br />' `Eopsoil suitability was determined from field and <br /> laboratory data. Average depth was estimated and represents <br /> <br /> mean values for suitable topsoil material as determined from <br />' hand auger holes, soil pits, and drilling. <br />' 1.4.7 Existing Disturbance Descriptions <br />The areas of existing disturbance were evaluated and <br />sampled where deemed necessary. The disturbed pad area ~das <br />' delineated as two areas, while the existing road network <br />and drill sites were broken into convenient segments for <br />' evaluation. Samples taken from existing disturbed areas were <br />' collected and analyzed in a manner consistent with that used <br />for undisturbed areas. <br />' The suitability of each area to be successfully <br />revegetated was determined from field and laboratory data. <br />1 <br />' - 10 - <br />
