Procedures and Materials For 1996
~onstntction. Liner Load and Interface Shear Data for 100 mil LLDPE.
Dear Mr. Keffelew:
L
The Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Com~atly ("CC&V") is attaching hereto the letter
repo on the additional testing for the sample of 100 mil LLDPE synthetic liner material. This
repo covers the successful liner load test (no pin holes or defects) using Drain Cover Fill and
Low Volume Solution Collection System Fill. Attachment A to the letter report covers this test.
The final results of the interface shear test using the same materials at the 4 different loadings
confirmed the high shear resistance. The peak and residual friction angle was 31 degrees and
the cohesion was 55 psf. As the report states, these results exceed the minimum interface shear
strength parameters of 21 degrees and 0 psf. Attachment B to the letter report contains these
test results.
appreciates the time you and your staff spent with CC&V yesterday and the long hours
l to review the material on the 1996 construction program.
Environmental Affairs
f~oo2
IIIIIIIIIIIII III
999
rktFachment (1): Leiter Report from Golder Associates dated January 26, 1996.
FII.E: CC&VSTIP.006
