All
data from both monthly and quarterly sampling is reported quarterly.
Future monitoring of each of the three major bedrock stratigraphic units will
be undertaken by the permittee in the following bedrock monitoring wells
beginning one year prior to entering Federal Coal Leases C-8424 and C-8425:
Well No.
310129-4u Upper Sandstone Facies
Monitored Stratum
Monitoring Frequency*
Quarterly
310129-4m Siltstone and Coal "
310130-8u Lower Sandstone "
310130-Sm Siltstone and Coal "
310131-7m Siltstone and Coal "
310132-7m Siltstone and Coal "
310132-7L Lower Sandstone "
310133-8u Upper Sandstone "
310133-8m Siltstone and Coal "
*Data to be reported on a quarterly basis.
The location of each of the above monitoring wells is shown on Table II.C-35
within Volume 1 of the application. Quarterly reports are compiled and the
data interpreted on a yearly basis by the permittee in the form of an annual
hydrology report submitted to the Division on January 1st of each year.
The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section.
VII. Alluvial Valley Floors - Rules 2.06.8 and 4.24
Alluvial Valley Floor Identification
The permit area and adjacent lands contain three steam channels, the
White River, Red Wash, and Scullion Gulch, with enough associated alluvium to
be considered as potential alluvial valley floors. A11 three channels cross
the permit area as well as the adjacent area. The permittee's alluvial valley
floor analysis is contained in Section II.D of the permit application.
Map 102 of Volume 9 of the application shows the extent of alluvial deposits
along the three drainages.
