BONDING
The Division has reviewed the bond for the Red Canyon Mine in
accordance with Rule 3.02.2(4). The current bond of E190,000.00 was
defined in January of 1984 and based on the Division's review using the
Dataquest Blue Book, rates have not increased significantly since
then. The full costs of reclamation for the approved Red Canyon No. 2
Mine are included within the current bonded amount. As this
development and associated disturbance have not been realized and due
to the relatively stable rates for equipment operation, no adjustment
is required in the performance bond which is being maintained by Grand
Mesa Coal Company for the Red Canyon Mine at this time.
/dim
2648E
