3.4 Diversity <br />Evaluation of diversity in accordance with Rules 3.03 and 4.16 results in a positive finding regarding <br />the 2006 data. In this regard, review of the third section of Table 1, as well as Chart 3, indicates that <br />the diversity of perennial, cool-season, grass species that contribute between 3 and 60 percent of the <br />relative cover (composition) for both the revegetated areas (six species in each) exceeds the standard <br />(four species) for 2006. The second diversity standard requires at least 3% relative cover of perennial <br />fortis. Perusal of the third section of Table 1 and Chart 4 indicates that both revegetated areas easily <br />surpass the perennialforb standard in 2006 exhibiting 15.5% and 11.8°k relative cover in the grassland <br />and riparian revegetation, respectively. The final diversity standard states that at least three shrub <br />species must be present in each revegetated unit. Review of the third section of Table 1 and Chart 5 <br />indicates that both revegetated units greatly surpass this standard in 2006 exhibiting 17 and 19 shrub <br />species in the grassland and riparian revegetation, respectively. Therefore, the three diversity standards <br />have been met with absolute confidence in 2006. <br />3.5 Woody Plant Density <br />Evaluation of the woody plant density variable in accordance with Rules 3.03 and 4.15 utilizing the <br />testing protocols detailed above results in a positive finding regarding the 2006 data. In this regard, <br />review of the fourth section of Table 1 and Chart 6, indicates that the average woody plant density of <br />both communities substantially exceeds 90% of the analogous standard for 2006. In the grassland <br />revegetation area, the woody plant density for 2006 (258 plants/acre) is considerably greater than the <br />90% value of the standard (or 90 plants/acre). Since sampling of the grassland units followed a total <br />count procedure, no statistical testing is necessary. <br />The woody plant density in the riparian revegetation unit for 2006 (8,175 plants/acre) is significantly <br />higher than the 90% value of the standard (or 900 plants/acre). Comparisons of the "tabular" versus <br />"calculated" t-statistics on Table 1 also indicate extremely strong success given the "reverse-null <br />hypothesis t-test" indicated by the guidelines. The decision rules for this test were: <br />If t" < tii-o;°-1 m.i ,conclude failure to meet the performance standard, and <br />If tk >_ tll-o;°-1 af,i, conclude that the performance standard was met (for a = 0.1). <br />The tabular t values for an a = 0.1 and n-1 degrees of freedom (df.) and calculation of the <br />comparison t* statistic for each community type for the 2006 comparisons are as follows: <br />CEDAR CREEK ASSOCIATES, INC.
