Water Division 7, Water District 71 SUBJECT: Extension of Temporary Substitute Water Supply Plan Dear Mr. Knox: In accordance with your approval letter of 16 May 2002, we are submitting an extension request prior to the expiraficn date of 30 March 2003. Enclosed is our check with the statutory fee of $217. We apologize for the delay in submitting this extension request, and ask for your waiver of the normal period in advance of the expiration date. There has been no water court action, and therefore, as originally n3quested in the Substitute Water Suppy Plan (as amended) we need to continue this plan for at least the period MAY 2003 to APRIL 2004. As stated in your approval letter, the water uses were to be (for the first year): The consumptive use of the first year is 9.31 acre-feet. A revision of your monthly breakdown of the annual depletions total 1.73 acre-feet of evaporative loss from a maximum of 1.06 acres of exposed groundwater, 1.22 acre-feet of water used for aggregate washing, 3.27 acre-feet of water used and consumed for dust control and 3.09 acre-feet of water lost with the mined product. As actually took place, through 20 April 2003, only 0.72 acres of water, in two separate areas of the pit, had an exposed water surface, thus resulting in only 1.18 acn;-feet of evaporative loss; only 73.25 hours of washing (rather than the 280 hours estimated) was done, thus resulting in only 0.32 acre-feet of water used for aggregate washing; water was applied not more than 45 days (rather than the 88 days estimated), thus
