Results from the summer of 2005 sampling event show that mean absolute vegetation cover is
higher on the AVF Reclaimed Area (39.87 percent) than on the AVF Reference Area (36.53 percent).
Mean vegetative cover by approved species was also greater on the AVF Reclaimed Area (35.20 percent)
than on the AVF Reference Area (29.20 percent).
Mean absolute vegetation cover is significantly higher on the Rangeland Reclaimed Area (32.53 percent)
than on the Rangeland Reference Area (19.73 percent). Mean vegetative cover by approved species was
also greater on the Rangeland Reclaimed Area (24.27 percent) than on the Rangeland Reference Area
(18.13 percent).
Vegetative cover results from the 2005 sampling event satisfy the requirements stipulated in the permit.
Tables A-4, A-6, A-8, and A-10 display the results of Ure 2005 sampling event for vegetative cover,
including absolute cover and relative cover, on each sampling area.
Production - 2005
Determination of sample adequacy in the field was based on the "wet weights" of clipped vegetation
(Table A-2). Adequacy was reached wiW 15 transects on the AVF Reference Area and AVF Reclaimed
Area by averaging the production values for six quadrats collected along each transect.
Sample adequacy was not achieved on the Rangeland Reference Area or the Rangeland Reclaimed Area
when utilizing the same methodology, or when each quadrat was counted as an individual sample.
Sampling ceased on each rangeland area upon completion of the fifteenth transect (90 total quadrats
collected).
292 - Goldrn Fagle Phase III (10.07.05) A~
