The east edge of Phase IV will also be backfilled and
seeded.
Phase IV-A
The areas north of abandoned pits "A" and `'B" will not be mined, -
however, some light grading will be done with a dozer to reduce pre-
eicisting highwalls in an effort to create shoreline which will be more
attractive to water fowl. A "ribbon" of land will be iefr undisturbed
between existinb bodies of water and the newly created water surface
with the exception of backfilling tha mina side. The area around the
office and Plant Site II will be backfilled as will the remaining
portion of road side between Plant Site II and the office area. The
causeway connecting the office site and the northern portion of Yhase
IV-A will be backfilled. All backfilled area will be graded and seeded.
Phase V
The ncrth and west boundaries will be backfilled and seeded. The east
edge will also be backfilled but the shoreline areas will not be seeded
until the maximum amount of overburden has been backfilled along the
ease edge. Titis amo~~nt will depend upon the amount of available over-
burden. As areas along the east edge become large enough not to be
disturbed by future backfilling operations, they will be seeded. Upon
completion of backfilling in Phase V, the shoreline area will b? seeded.
Phase V-A
A ribbon of Land will be left around the abandoned pit "A" along the
ease edge of Phase V-A. The southern edge of the area will be back-
filled as will the-edges of the two plant sites at the southeast and
southwest corners of the area. The ribbon of land around the abandoned
gra;~el pit "P.." will also be backfilled. These backfilled areas will
be seeded. The northern edge of Phase V-A will also be backfilled and
seeded. The dike along the river will have already been completed ant
seeded.
Phase VI
T_hic area will be treated as Phase V, with the exception that the west
edge will be backfilled and seeded, while both the east and south edges
will be progressively backfilled and seeded as overburden becomes available.
Phase VI-A
The west and rotth edges of Phase Vl-A will be backfilled and seeded.
Ph^se VII
There are areas along the southern boundary of Phase VII that consist
of a series of small abandoned gravel pits and the tail end of a slough;
these areas are rather boggy and marshy. As discussed in the mining
plan these areas may or may not be mined depending upon available over-
burden. If the area is not mined the marsh areas ::ill be opened up to
