Two small sumps were constmcted in the North Decline reclamation azea and one sump was <br />constructed in the Cameo Borrow Area #1 (CBA-1) to serve to capture and treat runoff from <br />reclaimed lands. These sumps aze adequately sized to contain runoff from a 25-year, 24-hour <br />storm event. <br />F. Surface and Groundwater Monitoring <br />The permittee will conduct monitoring of groundwater in a maaner approved by the <br />Division. The groundwater monitoring plan is detailed in Tab 18 of the permit application. <br />Piezometers have been installed in various permit area locations to monitor water level <br />and/or quality in alluvium, refuse fill, the Rollins Sandstone and abandoned sections of the <br />South Portals Mine. Monitoring locations aze shown on "Roadside and Cameo No.l <br />Mines Hydrologic Monitoring Map" (Exhibit 56), in Tab 18. The groundwater <br />monitoring plan is outlined below; for additional detail refer to Tab 18 of the approved <br />permit. (4.05.13(1)) <br />Ranid Creek and Cottonwood Creek Piezometers <br />GWMS-OlA, O1B, 02A, 02B, 03A, and 03B, monitor water levels May and September <br />CRDA Piezometers <br />CRDA-Ol through 03, and OIA; and thirty piezometers (Pz 100-107, 200-206, 300-307, <br />and 400-406), all on CRDA-1, monitored quarterly for water level. "Critical levels" <br />defined for 100, 200, 300, and 400 series piezometers. <br />CRDA-04 through 06 installed on CRDA-2, monitored quarterly for water level. <br />Unit Train Loadout Piezometers <br />Quarterly water level monitoring UTL-01,02,03,04; <br />Annual water quality monitoring UTL-02 and UTL-04 (pazameters listed in Permit Table <br />18-3) <br />Roadside South Portal Workines <br />Well N-1, located at reclaimed North Decline; quarterly water level monitoring. <br />Rollins Sandstone Wells <br />Rollins-2 (At UTL) <br />Rollins-3 (Neaz Pond 7, North Decline) <br />Quarterly water levels and Annual water quality analyses (Table 18-3) required for Rollins <br />Wells. Monitoring of in-mine wells (Rollins-1 and Rollins-4) has been discontinued <br />because the portals have been sealed and the wells aze therefore no longer accessible. <br />27 <br />
