The site inspection was conducted on June 17, 1997, for surety related
purposes. Our responses below aze numbered in the same way as on page 3 of your
inspection report.
1. Mine identification and perimeter markers have been installed.
2. Parkerson has no plan to disturb lands within the areas identified as "previously
mined".
3. Permittee will save and stockpile the top 8 inches of material stripped from
mining areas. Some site reclamation effort was made by the previous permittee.
Material placed by the previous permittee which is in areas planned for mining
will also be salvaged and stockpiled.
~ III IIIIIIIIIIIII III s
PARKERSON CONSTRUCTION, INC.
DENVER OFFICE
PUBLIC FILE GOpI(
FILE: M-S/-ZZ9 ~!
SIl'E:IlaGley (/;5 a r
710 S. 15th Street
~~ _ Grand Junction, Colorado 81501
(970)242-8134
FAX (970) 242-8977
A copy of the site U. S. Soil Conservation Service report for the permit is attached
to this letter for your information. The report recognizes that the site soils are weak in
organic materials.
The SCS report recommends that topsoil should be stripped and stockpiled.
According to the report, not all of the areas will be able to be topsoiled, and it
recommends that as much area as possible should be covered with the available material.
The report recites that the area to be reclaimed is extremely droughty and revegetation
