HART <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY <br />SUBJECT: Special Use Permit No. 96-07, Southwest Redi Mix, c/o Buck Barnhart (Agent), <br />37400 Highway 96 East, Pueblo <br />PURPOSE <br />The applicant requests a special use permit to allow the installation and operation of a portable <br />asphalt hot mix plant in an A-1, Agricultural (minimum 40 acres) Zone District (Exhibit 1). <br />The hot mix plant will be south of the existing redi mix batch plant which is located south of <br />U.S. Highway 96 East at 37400 Highway 96 East. The portable hot mix plant and feedstock <br />aggregate will be located along the private access road connecting the existing redi mix plant <br />with the mining area (Exhibits 2 and 3). <br />BACKGROUND <br />Special Use Permit No. 96-07 is in association with the existing extraction and processing <br />operations granted to Southwest Redi Mix under Special Use Permit No. 570 (2nd amended). <br />Special Use Permit No. 570 was first approved in December 1985 and at subsequent one year <br />reviews in 1987, 1988, 1989, and for a first amendment in ! 994. SUP No. 570 was approved for <br />a second amendment in 1995 with the following conditions: <br />The applicant shall provide the Department of Planning and Development with a copy of any <br />and all local, state, and federal applications, permits, or amendments pertaining to SUP 570 <br />(2nd Amended) within 30 days of their submittal or approval.
