The proposed standards are as follows:
Range Site A
Range Site B
Range Site C

gms/m2 pounds/acre
162:39 556.14
142:49 378.76
47:46 423.06
These production and cover standards are acceptable to the Division.
Therefore, Stipulation No. 1 of the November 23; 1982 Findings Document has
been satisfied and is no longer required in this new findings.
Several concerns arose concerning the seed mixes the applicant proposed for
reclamation at the site. This issue was resolved with the applicant agreeing
to submit seed mixes on an annual basis for approval by the Division.
The applicant has proposed that the Division approve a variance from the
requirement to reestablish pre-mining shrub densities. The Division has
reviewed the supporting information provided and has approved the proposed
plan. The plan involves the transplanting of mature shrub clumps of a given
size onto the reclaimed surface. Survival within clumps is being monitored by
the applicant.
As detailed 1n Trapper Mining, Inc.'s responses to the Division's preliminary
adequacy review (material received on July 27; 1987), numerical shrub density
standards have been established as follows:
The shrub density standard for Trapper Mine on Range Sites A and B will
be a minimum of 400 live stems per acre:
° Mithln the 1:6 acre mature shrub clumps the density shall be 13,764
live stems per clump.
° There are no shrub density standards for Range Site C.
° If the use of mature shrub clumps is discontinued the current shrub
density standards will be reevaluated artd new standards may be
considered by the Division.
Pursuant to Rule 2.07:6(2)(n), and on the basis of available information, this
Division finds that the proposed operation will not affect the continued
existence of any threatened or endangered plant species.
