Stream Channel Diversions <br />Drainageway reconstruction is discussed under Section 4.8.13, Vol. IV of the <br />permit application. <br />Channel lining structures, retention basins, and artificial channel roughness <br />structures aze proposed for use to control erosion. ThE:se means aze proposed <br />to be approved by the Division since they aze necessary to control erosion, <br />they aze stable and will require infrequent maintenanc:. The applicant uses <br />rock check structures, various geotextiles, and rapid growing vegetation <br />within reconstructed drainages to control erosion. (4.05.4(2)(a)). <br />C. Sedimentation Ponds <br />Sediment ponds aze discussed under Section 4.8.1.4, Vol. IV of the permit <br />application. <br />The applicant uses sedimentation ponds in all disturbed drinages <br />to control the increased sediment loads within the ephemeral drainages on the <br />mine site. All sediment ponds aze designed to contain or treat the 10-year, 24- <br />hourevent and safely pass the 25-yeaz, 24-hour event, at a minimum. One MSHA <br />size pond exists on the site in the Coyote drainage, but as of 1997, this pond is <br />usually dry. <br />D. Surface and Ground Water Monitoring <br />The applicant will conduct monitoring of ground water in a manner approved <br />by the Division. The ground water monitoring plan c<ut be found in Section <br />4.8.5.2a, Vol. IV of the permit application. (4.OS.I3(1)). <br />2. The applicant will conduct monitoring of surface water in a manner approved <br />by the Division. The monitoring plan was submitted tinder 2.05.6(3)(b)(iv) <br />and can be found in Section 4.8.S.la of the permit application, Vol. IV. <br />(4.05.13(2)). <br />The Division has reviewed the surface and ground water monitoring plans as part <br />of the revision process. These monitoring plans aze adequate to monitor for the <br />development of impacts, if any should develop. <br />E. Probable Hydrologic Consequences <br />The probable hydrologic consequences of the Trapper mine aze described in <br />section 4.8 of the permit application, and aze summarized below. <br />Trapper Mine 2~ May lJ, 1998 <br />
