hay was spread down the gullies, It was not moved or sorted, showing that these gullies did not
run a signiflcant amount of water this spring.
Area 1-6
West Ridge area 1-6 was evaluated using the methods described in BLM Technical Note Na 346.
The erosion condition composite sdl surface factor scare for this site is 18, which places it In
the stable erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are contained in Table 14. There
are some rills and small gullies present above terrace 6 in the nantopsdled area. Most of this
area has been disturbed recently, so little rilling is present.
Area 6-7
West Ridge area 6-7 was also evaluated using the methods described in BLM Technical Note No.
346. The erosion condition tomposite soil surface factor score for this site Is 18, which places
It In the stable erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are contained In Table 15.
Terrace 6 overflowed in one area where the snow blocked the water flow. This gully has already
been repaired. Some Nlling was noticed in the nontopsdled section at the south end of this area.
Area 7-8
West Ridge area 7-8 was evaluated using the methods described in BLM Technkrel Note No. 346.
The erosion condition composite sdl surface factor score for this site is 17, which places it in
the stable erosion class. The tabulated results far this survey are contained in Table 16. This
area looks good, there is still some topsdl to distribute in this area. Old gullies in this area
show no sign of new erosion.
Area 8-9
West Ridge area 8-9 was evaluated using the methods described in BLM Technical Note No. 346.
The erosion condition composite soil surface factor score for this site is 19, which places it in
the stable erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are contained in Table 17. This
area, like the others, shows rills In the newly seeded area at the south end. The dd gullies show
little sign of new erosion.
Area 9-10
West Ridge area 9-10 was evaluated using the methods described in BLM Technical Note No.
346. The erosion condition composite soil surface factor score for this site is 25, which places
It In the Slight erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are contained in Table 18.
The south end of this area where terraces 9 & 10 begin is heavily rilled, with some gullies
forming in the newly leaded areas. Some of the dder gullies just north of the access road show
some sign of new erosion. Terrace 9 was blocked with snow this spring, and gullies developed
where water ran over the top. These gullies will be repaired this summer.
11
