If, however, <br />a subject well has not been put to beneficial use prior to mining, then <br />Aggregate Industries would have no responsibility to provide mitigation. <br />Mitigation measures may include, but are not limited to: <br />- Cleaning a well to improve efficiency. <br />- Providing an alternative source of water or purchasing additional water to <br />support historic well use in terms of water quantity and quality. If needed, <br />water quality parameters will be checked in affected wells to ensure <br />alternative sources support the historic use. <br />- Modifying a well to operate under lower groundwater conditions. This <br />could include deepening existing wells or lowering the pumps. All work <br />would be done at Aggregate Industries' expense with the exception of <br />replacing equipment that was non-functional prior to mining. <br />- If existing wells cannot be retrofitted or repaired: replacing the impacted <br />well with a new replacement well. <br />- Providing flood imgation to address concerns over impacts to sub- <br />irrigated lands adjacent to the site. <br />• , If a groundwater mitigation action is required, Aggregate Industries will <br />notify the DMG of the condition, action taken and result. <br />4. Aggregate Industries must agree to include in its application, jor a substitute <br />water supply plan, all probable mounding of water predicted in the groundwater <br />model <br />[t is our understanding that this is not a requirement of the Temporary Substitute <br />WaterSupptyPlan-Apptieation. Aggregate~ndnstries wittworkwith the State <br />Engineer's Office (SEO) on all issues governed by that Agency. A temporary <br />substitute water supply plan (TSSP) has been submitted to the SEO. <br />S Aggregate Industries must add to Exhibit G Tetra Tech's recommendation that <br />water levels in the monitoring wells be measured monthly until extraction <br />begins and quarterly until reclamation Ls complete and the DMG releases the <br />financial warranty or until the Mined Land Reclamation Board releases A. I. <br />from further monitoring responsibiliy.
