-53- <br />Fish and Wildlife (con't) <br />The application is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />XIII. Prime Farmland - Rules 2.04.12, 2.06.6 and~9.25 <br />Pursuant to Rule 2.07.6(2)(k), the Division has made a negative determination <br />for the presence of prime farmland within the proposed permit area. The <br />decision is based on the letter of October 8, 1981, signed by Jim Jenkins, <br />President of the Delta Soil Conservation District, stating that there are no <br />prime farmland mapping units within the proposed permit area. This letter can <br />be found on page 96i of the permit application. <br />The application is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />XI V. Operations I~scripti on - Rules 2.05.2, 2.05.3(1), 2.05.3(2) and 4.01 <br />The detailed description of the operations can be found on pages 98-I04 of the <br />permit application. <br />In brief, the operations at the Blue Ribbon Mine consist of underground room and <br />pillar mining using continuous mining machinery. There are three parallel main <br />entries From the mine bench situated to the east above Hubbard Creek mining <br />east to west (see Exhibit C of the permit application). Four entry submains <br />will be driven north across the permit area and panels will be driven east <br />from the submains. One panel of development is anticipated Est of the <br />Second North Section to recover coal not recovered by the First North Section <br />due to poor roof conditions. <br />The mine plan anticipates a production rate of 200,000 tons per year with an <br />estimated Life of operations under the present lease of 5~, years. <br />AZl coal comes out of the mine on a conveyor where it is screened. Minus 3 inch <br />coal is hauled to the truck weigh station on Colorado Highway 133 for weighing. <br />Plus 3 inch coal is sold locally for Iump coal. No processing other than screen- <br />ing occurs at the site. <br />The application is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />Xy.
