The proposal would be to equally split the cost, with WBM purchasing the
fencing materials (about $2,500), and BLM constructing the fence. It is our
understanding you will advise BLM if you are agreeable to proceeding with the cost-
share effort. Jim Dollerschell (244-3016) is the BLM contact for the fencing project.
Weeds
It is our understanding that WBM intends to spray the weeds (except Russian
knapweed) starting in August, using a reputable spraying contractor. Then the
knapweed would be sprayed in the early fall. As you know, the DMG is also requiring
control of the tamarisk. You must coordinate your spraying effort on the BLM transfer
parcel with our weed specialist, Sparky Taber (244-3004). In addition, you must
coordinate with FWS regarding spraying efforts near the pond.
Reclamation
In conjunction with weed control and fencing the site, reclamation efforts have
increased chance of success. Our recommendations include the following three
options:
United States Department of the Interior
6L?1tEAU OE l~a\D MANAGEMENT </~
