Recently <br /> a ribbon of trees and shrubs has been planted along the <br /> east edge of the site. <br /> Air Quality <br /> At present, the air quality on the site is typical of rural <br /> land near urban areas . Prevailing winds are from the south <br /> to southwest, west and northeast. High dust and suspended <br /> particle concentrations occasionally occur as a result of <br /> • wind-raised dust from nearby roads, agricultural activity, <br /> nearby residential construction activity or natural dust <br /> sources. Wind can also raise the level of pollutants from <br /> auto and industrial uses in close proximity to the subject <br /> area, but this is a rare occurrence. Annual averages of <br /> pollution on the site are quite low.
