The ponds have been designed, constructed and <br />maintained in accordance with the requirements of 4.05.6 and 4.05.9. The <br />location of these ponds can be found in Exhibit H-1 and Exhibit Z. The ponds <br />are located as neaz as possible to the disturbed azea and are not located within <br />perennial streams according to 4.05.6(1)(6). <br />E. Acid-forming and Toxic-forming Spoil <br />The Blue Ribbon Mine extracted coal from the E seam, which is an extremely <br />uniform and clean seam. The underground development waste that was <br />produced was placed at the Red Canyon Mine's refuse disposal azea. There <br />was minimal waste material and did not require any special handling <br />4.05.8(3). <br />F. Impoundments <br />Refer to the section regarding sediment ponds (4.05.9) <br />G. Surface and Groundwater Monitoring <br />The applicant will conduct monitoring of ground water in a manner approved <br />by the Division. The ground water monitoring plan is described in Section <br />2.05.6, Mitigation of the Impact of Mining Operations, page 124, in the <br />permit application (4.05.13(1)). <br />2.
