The drainage improvements as outlined in the Merrick & Company
report will be evaluated and improvements will be made during
the 1982 construction season.
CWI further commits to relocating of the material stored on the
outer edge of the crushing and screening level to a place more
suitable. CWI currently anticipates this material to be moved
to the north side of the crushing and screening level. This
relocation of material would be performed during the 1982
construction season.
Whenever coal is being stockpiled on the crushing and screening
level, CWI ,would inspect the drainage of the level and inspect
also for potential slope instabilities on a daily basis. Im-
mediate actions in the form of reducing the stockpile or im-
proved drainage would be done immediately.
Because of the extension of the time deadlines on the Phase II sta-
bility analysis, CWI requests that the deadline for the Phase III stabil-
ity analysis be extended for approximately one year. At that time, the
final reclaimed configuration and a revised backfilling and grading cost
estimate will be submitted for final approval.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me. CWI re-
quests that a letter confirming the Divisions's recommendations be sent
to CWI.
Sincerely,
l~ -~
Patricia M.
