III II III III IIII III I .~
999
Mathews, Dan
From: Rourien, Lany
Sent: Friday, December 10, 1999 11:19 AM
To: Mathews, Dan
Subject: RE: shrub meeting and Roadside
I will look around a bit more for shrub data if I have time- I'll be on the raod most of next week. I think most of the
detailed shrub data I tried to lobby CMA with was from the Canadian Mine. I had some numbers from Trapper, too. I'll
take a look.
On Roadside- Sounds like your advice to PSC was in line with what we did at North Thompson Creek. With regard to the
shorter liability period for industrial areas, we told them the liability period ended when the new land use beaan. In that
case, we said it began when the scrapers started ripping up the land to build the golf course. The loadout had already
been reclaimed when the developers came along. So, any AVF reclamation requirements had already been done,
theoretically. However, we never looked at AVF issues when we changed the post-mine land use and did the bond
release. I am not sure what the implications of the AVF rules are for the Roadside situation where the reclamation is not
yet done. I'll look at that some other day if you want me to. Meanwhile, we can see what Lewicki comes up with.
-Original Message-
From: Mathews, Dan
SeM: Friday, December 10, 7999 11:02 AM
To: Routten, Larry
Subject: shrub meeting and Roadside
I'll plan to meet you at Sam friday moming and ride up together. In addition to anecdotes, what about those graphs
you had produced when you were trying to convince CMA of the wonders of non-parametric statistics? Didn't you
have shrub data for Colowyo, Trapper, and one of the Senecas?
On another subject, I met with an individual from Public Service Company yesterday moming and Elam Construction
Company yesterday ariemoon regarding possible land transfers involving various Roadside Mine facility areas.
Quaker Coal is apparently interested in getting rid of as much reclamation liability at Roadside as quickly as possible.
See the attached memo.
«File: meetings 12-9-99.doc»
