The Watchdogs will continue to request that the regulatory <br />agency Install an air quality monitor station in this community. <br />(2) Characterization of DustlParticulates: We really don't know what it <br />contains. <br />Look again at our real ty in the photograph of episodic fugitive dust plumes from a site <br />specrfic source. These undefined, uncharacterized particulates and dust pose an <br />intolerable risk to the I~ealth and well-being of the residents of this community. The <br />Watchdogs will continue to request the regulatory agency to conduct a <br />chemical characterization of these substances that are being discharged <br />into our environment. <br />(3) A Public Hearing is Appropriate: We have requested a public hearing so <br />that (A) citizens may voice their concerns and opinions regarding Southdown's permit <br />application; (B) regulators may adldress these concerns. <br />(4) New Development: Once again,Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell has <br />responded to our distrESS call and Gskad the Er^A to make an inquiry into this situation. <br />The EPA's preliminary response in quite encouraging.
