_. ~
PARKERSON CONS7RUC770N, INC.
710 SOUTH 15TH
P.O. BOX 1771
GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO 81502
242-8134
March 9, 1992 Page 2
In order for our operations to cause damage to Mr. Crist's orchard, we must
first be creating excessive dust. I think that with all of the effort we
have put into dust control that we do not create excessive dust. The Mesa
County Health Department agrees with that also. Second, in order for any
dust to cause damage, it must reach Mr. Crist's property. According to data
collected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) the
prevailing wind at this location is east-southeast. This wind direction
would blow any dust directly away from Mr. Crist's orchard. NOAA also finds
that peak gusts come from either the south or southwest. (A copy of part
of this report from 1988 is included.) Again, this would not deposit dust
from our gravel pit on Mr. Crist's orchard.
We think that we have worked very hard to see that our gravel pit operations
do not adversely impact our neighbors. We do not agree with Mr. Crist's or
your conclusion that our gravel operations are causing damage to his orchard.
Your review of this matter and written response will be appreciated.
Sincerely, ,
.~
Alan Parkerson,
Vice-President
Parkerson Construction, Inc.
Enclosures (2) - -- -
AP:bl
~(r~~
-~dr /OVA ~ ~'`' -~p -
fjitrf ~ ~ 7 eve
Via.
