Mr. Carl Mount
April 5, 1990
Page 3
These selected sites are not seeded to reduce herbaceous
composition during the shrub and tree establishment phase.
Seedlings, developed from regional sources, will be
planted in selected sites in both Wolf Creek and Wadge
reclaimed areas. Twelve thousand seedlings consisting of
5,000 aspen, 5,000 chokecherry, and 2,000 serviceberry
will be planted in the fall of 1990. Deer-away repellent
will be used on approximately half of the plantings to
measure its effectiveness in mitigating big game damage to
seedlings following planting.
This information is presented as fulfillment of the
requirement for submittal of an annual plan for shrub and
tree plantings and seed mixes (with supplemental
species) to be used during 1990 revegetation activities.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience if there
are any questions on this submittal.
Sincerely,
U/-vv~ ~ ,
Vern Pfa nenstiel
Senior
Environmental Scientist
kjs
