The tract is located two miles
southwest of Somerset, Colorado and five miles northeast of Paonia,
Colorado.
Approximately 280.36 acres are federal surface and federal minerals.
The remainder of the surface is privately owned by one surface owner
and the mineral estate is federally owned.
Authorizing Actions and Aaencv Involvement
• In response to the competitive coal lease application submitted by
Mountain Coal Company, the Bureau of Land Management reviews the coal
lease application in accordance with the regulations found at 43 CFR
3420.
