-6-
The proposed operation is in compliance with the requirements of this
section.
. III. Geology - Rule 2.02.3(1)(c)(i)
The Division has reviewed information presented by the applicant within
i the application on pages 5 through 7. The narrative description, along
with the topography map on pages 23 and 24 contain the required
information.
The proposed operation is in compliance with the requirements of this
section.
IV. Hydrology -Rules 2.02.3(1)(c)(i) and 4.21.4(7 & 10)
The Division has reviewed information regarding the ground water and
surface water regime on pages 7 through 9 and information on drainage,
sediment and erosion control on pages 1 and 2, pages l9 through 26 and
Appendix D of the application.
Undisturbed runoff in the ephemeral drainage which runs through the
exploration site will be diverted around the disturbed area. Disturbed
runoff will be contained by a collection ditch and conveyed to a
sedimentation pond.
The Division finds that the exploration operation has been designed to
minimize disturbance to the prevailing hydrologic balance. Sediment
control measures proposed should be adequate to achieve this requirement.
The proposed operation is in compliance with the requirements of this
section.
V. Vegetation - Rule 2.02.3(1)(c)(i) and 4.21.4(6)
The Division has reviewed baseline information on pages 9 and 10 and
revegetation plans on pages 21, 29, and 37 of the application. The
revegetation plan as presented should allow for the establishment of a
vegetative cover capable of stabilizing the soil surface in regards to
erosion.
Due to the fact that surface operations will be limited to a previously
disturbed mined area of approximately 2 acres, no threatened or
endangered plant species or critical or unique habitat could potentially
be affected.
The proposed operation is in compliance with the requirements of this
section.
