As part of the transition to this new
company, Grand Valley wishes to make the requested "contribution"
to the recovery fund for the endangered species in the Upper
Colorado River Basin. Increased depletions are projected because
of the expanded activity brought on by a proposed mine plan
modification for the McClave Canyon Mine north of Loma, Colorado.
The "contribution" for the additional 3.5 acre feet of water
depletion has recently been raised from $11.50 per acre foot to
$11.98 per acre foot. enclosed is a Cashier's Check in the
amount of $41.93 to pay the "contribution",
I have enclosed a copy of a letter sent to Salt Creek from the
USFWS regarding the increase in depletion fees to ensure that
credit is applied for the correct project.
Please contact me if I can be of assistance.
cerely~,
~ :y~i''. ~Z~ .
John M.
