At such time as the Yankee Gulch Project may permanently suspend commercial operations,
there may be a need for continued monitoring of the surface water system beyond shut-down of
the plant and well field. In the event that the project permanently suspends commercial
operations, American Soda will continue to provide support to the USGS to monitor the surface
water system for a time period as required to complete monitoring. American Soda will consult
with the BLM and CDMG to determine the extent and time frame for post closure hydrologic
monitoring.
5.0 Process Monitoring
The solution mining process will be monitored according to the schedule and criteria presented in
this section. All process monitoring data will be included in monitoring reports that will be
submitted monthly to the regulatory agencies (described in Section 6.0). Details of the process
monitoring schedule and criteria aze presented in Table 5.

Parameter 0
Monitoring
Recording Frequency
In'ectionPressure Automatic-Per Well ]Ominuie
In'ection Tem mture Automatic -Per Well 10 minute
In'ection Densi Automatic -Per Well 10 minute
In'ection Flow Rate Automatic -Per Well 10 minute
Production Pressure Automatic-Per Well 10 minute
Production Tem rature Automatic -Per Well 10 minute
Production Densi Automatic -Per Well 10 minute
Production Flow Raze Automatic -Per Well ] 0 minute

Nitro enConsu tion Manual-Per Well Dail
Nitrogen Pressure Automatic -Per Well 10 minute

U er and Lower Production Stream an d In'ection Stream
Water uali CP List Manual uarterl
Carbon Dioxide Manual Monthl when o eratin
Methane Manual Monthl when o eratin
BTEX Manual Monthl when o eratrn
Oil and Grease Manual Monthl when o ratin
TCLP Parameters and pH Manual After Start-up or when significant
rocess condition than a occurs
5.1 Solution Mining Wells
Since no solution mining wells will be in operation during a temporary suspension period, it will
not be possible to monitor pertinent parameters in association with the mining. Observations will
be made of production flow and pressure monitors periodically to confirm temporary suspension
status for regulatory compliance and reporting. Once commercial production resumes, solution
mining wells will be monitored for pressure, temperature, flow rate, and density of inflow and
outflow at 10-minute intervals. The data will be recorded at 10-minute intervals and recorded in
a central control system.
Operational samples will be collected for cazbon dioxide, dissolved organic carbon, BTEX
(benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylenes), oil and grease, and methane from the process
Draft Modification No. 9 LTIC Area Permit No. C030858-00000 Page 33 of 44
