Proposed lanQUa¢e: Monitoring of water quality and water level shall occur according to the Water Monitoring Plan, Appendix I. The permittee has already collected five (5) quarters of baseline data, prior to the commencement of operations, for the Alluvial Aquifer, the Upper Aquifer (A-Groove and Uinta Formation), and the Lower Aquifer (B-Groove and Dissolution Surface). Additional monitoring wells may be deleted or added to the monitoring program, if necessary, as development of the commercial solution mining well field progresses, or as warranted by monitoring results. This will be done by modifying the Water Monitoring Plan (see Section D. 4~n paragraph of Permit). • Part II, C (6), Injection Fluid Limitation, the last paragraph of the section is proposed to be changed as follows: Current language: Injection of any hazazdous waste as identified by EPA under 40 CFR § 261.3 is prohibited. It also contains a process monitoring section, (found in Section 4.0 of the Water Monitoring Plan, Appendix I) for mining operations at the Piceance Site. Proposed language: The Water Monitoring Plan includes ground-water monitoring, for the Piceance Site (solution well field and upper plant) and process monitoring for mining operations at the Piceance Site. It also contains monitoring provisions for surface ponds and the pipeline, which are not covered by the Permit.
