Operations at the Yankee Gulch Project maybe
temporarily suspended. Proposed revisions to the monitoring plan address both periods of temporary
cessation and normal operating conditions. During the temporary suspension time period, water levels
and water quality sampling would be completed once per quarter for each sampling location at Yankee
Gulch and once per yeaz for the domestic well located off site from Yankee Gulch. These level
measurements would be made in conjunction with the water quality sample collection. No production
solution mines would be in operation and no brine solution would be circulating in the wells or the
pipelines. All stand-by status production wells that are not plugged and abandoned would be at ambient
temperature and pressure with cast-iron bridge plugs or cement basket plugs set. The constituent list
would include the seventeen laboratory parameters and four field measurements specified in the bottom
portion of Table 3 and Table 4.
Table 4 summarizes the proposed commercial production monitoring plan. During commercial
operation water levels will be monitored: continuously using water level probes at dissolution surface
monitoring sites, and monthly with a manual measuring device at all other locations. Information
provided from the first five yeazs of operation indicates that water level monitoring is the best primary
Drag Addendum to SOB For Modification No. 9, LTIC Area Permit No. CO30858-00000 Page 17 of27
