Due to continuing poor coal <br />market conditions, the management of Kerr Coal Company has <br />elected to suspend all activities at the mine until that time in <br />the future when Plorth Park coal once again becomes a valuable <br />and necessary commodity. <br />The effective date of the cessation was Septertk7er 1, 1963, <br />but a few people have beers retained at least For the month of <br />September, 1983, to complete activities necessary to secure the <br />area and comply with certain requirements for a tcraporary <br />shutdown, Those activities include: <br />1. Barricade and lock all entrances to the operation. <br />2. Drain all fuel from storage tanks. <br />3. Remove all explosives front the site <br />4. Complete reclamation work scheduled for this year. <br />Please note that this work is currently underway. It <br />includes seeding approximately 30 acres of previously <br />unneeded area, reseeding approximatel} 10 acres o: <br />previously seeded area, seeding, fertilizing and <br />mulching sedimentation pond embankments A through D, <br />and seeding tcao topsoi] stockpiles. <br />5. Repair drainage way mentioned in your latnr.t <br />inspection report. <br />6. Ir>spect ar.d make necess3r}~ repairs to all <br />sedimentation pond emban}:mcnts and outlet works. <br />
